An Overview of Timo Sarvimäki’s Artistry
Timo Sarvimäki (1948–) was born in Jakobstad in Western Finland. In 1963, the family moved to outside of Lidköping in Sweden. Timo then became a thrower apprentice at the Rörstrand company, the local pride of the city. He soon became a full-fledged thrower, working for distinguished artists like Carl-Harry Stålhane, Inger Persson, and Marianne Westman.

After art studies at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, he returned as a ceramic artist to Rörstrand (1971–1973) and nearby Designhuset (1973–1975). Then he abruptly ended his career as a ceramist, instead developing his love for painting.
