An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Plejad Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most appreciated series is Plejad (Pleiades) from 1954. It consists of five earthenware bowls and vases. They have footed modern forms and colorful hand-painted women decors. 

The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1958. Which of Mari’s Plejad objects is your favorite?
