Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Strips from 1968. It consists of five earthenware bowls and vases. They have sturdy forms, rough surfaces, and black/white/orange stripe decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1970. Which of Mari’s Strips objects is your favorite?
