An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Palma Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Palma from 1966. It consists of six earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have gently swelling forms, green glazes, and zigzag reliefs. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured only in 1966. Which of Mari’s Palma objects is your favorite?
