An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Blå Band Series
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Blå Band (Blue Ribbon) from 1969. It consists of five earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have sturdy forms, rough surfaces, and blue glazed top sections.
