An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Samba Serie

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Samba from 1953. It consists of eight earthenware bowls and vases. They have turquoise glazes and linear or lens shaped decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1954. Which of Mari’s Samba objects is your favorite?
