Per Lütken is one of the well-known designers of the illustrious Danish design of the 20th century. He was one of the leading designer at the Holmgaard glassworks n the 1940s–1990s. An Overview of Per Lütken’s Carnaby Series

Per Lütken (1916–1998) has designed many glass classics for the Danish Holmegaard company. One of the most well-known series is Carnaby from 1968.

Per designed 15 vases for the series. They came with a geometric shape, pop-era colors, and joyous expression.

The first year, the vases came in four color schemes: yellow, white, red/white, and turquoise/white. In 1969, a transparent ruby red color was added. The series was in production until 1976.

The vases are today often accompanied with a contrasting colored ball on top. These balls were actually designed by Michael Bang but crafted at the same glassworks as the Carnaby series.
