| "The best way to grow your taste is to love the beautiful intensely." |
Stig Lindberg (1916–1981) designed more than 150 models and decors for the Gustavsberg factory. One of the most well-known series is Matros (Sailor) which was designed in 1960. It was manufactured from flintware and produced for a short period of time. The series was adorned with a blue triangular pattern.
The Matros series was relaunched in bone porcelain by Gustavsberg in 2007. A coffee cup and two new color schemes were introduced. This new production of Matros ended within a few years.
