An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Mexico Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Mexico from the 1960s. It consists of three earthenware objects with gently swelling shapes, rough surfaces, and creamy white geometric relief patterns. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). Which of Mari’s Mexico objects is your favorite?
