Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most appreciated series is Etna from 1962. It consists of six earthenware dishes and vases. They have rounded forms, brown glaze, and circular relief decors.
The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1964. Which of Mari’s Etna objects is your favorite?
