Boris Stojkov (1925–1982) was employed by the Gustavsberg company in 1964. He soon became known for his self-named ”Boris” series consisting of five surrealistic animal figurines. They are made of stoneware with relief surfaces and reddish brown matte glaze. The lower sides are marked with Boris, model number, Gustavsberg, and Sweden.
Boris has made a few similar animals that are not considered part of the series. Those are not marked in the same way as the ”Boris” figurines.
