Why is my card payment declined?
Your card may be declined for a number of reasons. From our experience, these are the three most common:
1. The payment exceeds the card limit.
2. The card doesn't allow international transactions.
3. Visa and Mastercard nowadays often demand an additional verification when buying internationally. It increases buyer security but could sometimes be a hassle. This verification step is different for different cards, but could be things like email codes, text message passwords, facial recognition, and authenticator apps. Please check with your card issuing bank how to pass this additional verification. Sometimes, using another card might avoid this problem.
