An Overview of Lisa Larson' s Bronze Figurines from Galleri Scandia
Lisa Larson is best known as a potter with a strong connection to Gustavsberg. But during the 1970s, she freelanced as a bronze designer for Scandia Present. The company was located in Karlshamn in the south of Sweden and was a continuation of the well-known art industry Ystad-Metall.
In 1978, Scandia Present launched the "Gallery Scandia" series with casted bronze figurines by Lisa Larson, Bror Forslund, Carl-Einar Borgström, and Stig Lindberg. Lisa contributed with five sculptures, each of which was produced in a limited edition of 999 pieces. They were marked at the foot with "Lisa Larson" and the production number. The figurines came with a rustic wooden box and a small blue information booklet.
