Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Rhodos from 1958. It consists of five earthenware bowls and vases. They have gently swelling forms, light brown glazes, and incised dark brown leaf decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1960. Which of Mari’s Rhodos objects is your favorite?
