Johnny Mattsson – Wood from Gävle

Johnny Mattsson (1920–1981) was one of Sweden’s leading wood artists in the 20th century. After his education and early work years, he started his studio in the town of Gävle. He became a master of carving, leading to marvelous sculptural pieces. Johnny’s artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
