An Overview of Karin Björquist Indigo Series
Karin Björquist designed many classics for the Swedish ceramic factory Gustavsberg. One of the most well-known series is Indigo from 1952. It consists of stoneware bowls, jars, mugs, and vases. They have white glaze and blue hand-painted geometric pattern. Each model could have several decors.
The objects are marked on the lower side with the Gustavsberg Studio hand, painter’s mark, and model number. Which of Karin’s Indigo pieces is your favorite?
