An Overview of Anita Nylund’s Kryddgränden Series
Anita Nylund designed many classics for the Jie-Keramik company in the south of Sweden. One of the most well-known series is the Kryddgränden (Spice Alley) series from 1960. It consists of four flintware jars which you could hang on the wall.
The Kryddgränden jars have two different house forms, each with two different printed decors. The houses could then have many different hand-painted decors.
The jar motifs came from Anita’s home town of Lidköping, where her father Gunnar was the well-known artistic leader for the Rörstrand factory. On the lower side, the houses are often marked with Jie, Gantofta, Sweden, Kryddgränden, and Design Anita Nylund.
