An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Turkosa Series
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Turkosa from 1967. It consists of nine earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have segmented shapes, unglazed brown sections, and incised turquoise geometric patterns.
