An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Tahiti Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Tahiti from 1952. It consists of seven earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have sparse white glazes and turquoise abstract flower decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1963. Which of Mari’s Tahiti objects is your favorite?
