Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Star from 1961. It consists of seven earthenware candleholders, dishes, and vases. They have brown backgrounds, white net reliefs, and white/turquoise flower decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Mari’s Star objects is your favorite?
