Oiva Toikka’s Sieppo (Flycatcher) birds have become iconic pieces for glass collectors all over the world. They were launched in 1972 with swelling shapes, unicolored bodies, and contrasting heads. In the first years, they were crafted at the Nuutajärvi glassworks, but then production moved to the Iittala glassworks.
The flycatcher comes in two versions: footed with wings, and non-footed without wings. It is quite small in length (about 8 cm / 3.1 in) but with a big personality. Every bird is mouth-blown and handcrafted, giving it a unique touch. Which Oiva Toikka flycatcher is your favorite?
