An Overview of Aimo Nietosvuori's Månadsblommor Series
Aimo Nietosvuori designed the Månadsblommor (Month Flowers) in the 1970s during the golden era of Swedish pottery. It consists of twelve white earthenware wall plates with a gently quadratic form (16 x 16 cm). They are hand-decorated with floral motifs in relief, each representing a specific month.
On the back side, the pieces are stamped with Jie, Gantofta, Sweden, Aimo, and the model number. Which of his wall plates is your favorite?
