Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1940s to 1960s. One of the most well-known series is Gondel/Yondel from 1959. It consists of ten earthenware objects: bowls, jars, and vases. They have geometric shapes, grid pattern relief, and yellow/brown (Yondel where Y is for yellow) or green (Gondel where G is for green) glaze. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, Sweden, Abg, and the model number. The series was manufactured until 1967. Which of Ingrid’s Gondel/Yondel objects is your favorite?
