An Overview of Ingrid Atterberg’s Kastanj Series

Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1940s to 1960s. One of the most appreciated series is Kastanj (Chestnut) from 1961. It consists of nine earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have modern forms, reddish brown glaze, graphic relief decor.

The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, Sweden, Abg, and the model number. The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Ingrid’s Kastanj objects is your favorite?
