An Overview of Ingrid Atterberg’s Sparta Series

Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1940s to 1960s. One of the most appreciated series is Sparta from 1959. It consists of nine earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have rustic forms, brown/yellow glaze, and circular relief decor.

The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, Sweden, Abg, and the model number. The series was manufactured until 1967. Which of Ingrid’s Sparta objects is your favorite?
