Anna-Lisa Thomson (1905–1952) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1930s–1950s. One of the most well-known series is Athene from 1950. It consists of 16 earthenware bowls and vases. They have gently swelling forms and white surrealistic motifs on brown background. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and ALT. The series was manufactured until 1953. Which of Anna-Lisa’s Athene objects is your favorite?
