An Overview of Britt-Louise Sundell’s Kuli Series
Britt-Louise Sundell (1928–2011) designed many classics for the Swedish Gustavsberg company. One of the most well-known series is Kuli from 1959. It is made of stoneware and consists of four bowls and three vases. They have sturdy forms, mottled blue glaze, and bead relief decors.
The objects are deep stamped on the lower sides with Gustavsberg, Kuli, and model number. The stamps could sometimes be hard to distinguish due to the thick glaze. Which of Britt-Louise’s Kuli objects is your favorite?
