Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Solblomma (Sunflower) from 1960. It consists of six earthenware dishes and vases. They have brown glazes, dot reliefs, and yellow/turquoise flower decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Mari’s Solblomma objects is your favorite?
