An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Hedenhös Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Hedenhös from 1957. It consists of five earthenware bowls and vases. They have rounded forms, grayish brown backgrounds, and incised rock carving decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1960. Which of Mari’s Hedenhös objects is your favorite?
