An Overview of Ingrid Atterberg’s Somali Series

Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1940s to 1960s. One of the most well-known series is Somali from 1953. It consists of six earthenware vases and pitchers. They have handles, streamlined shapes, and velvety black glazes. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, Sweden, Abg, and the model number. The series was manufactured until 1957. Which of Ingrid’s Somali objects is your favorite?
