Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Lagun (Lagoon) from 1963. It consists of four earthenware bowls and vases. They have white glazes and pastel-colored leafs on unglazed sections. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured only in 1963. Which of Mari’s Lagun objects is your favorite?
