An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Timglas Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Timglas (Hourglass) from 1960. It consists of three earthenware bowls and vases. They have segmented forms, white glazes, and polychrome geometric decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1961. Which of Mari’s Timglas objects is your favorite?
