An Overview of Bengt Orup’s Strikt Series
Bengt Orup (1916–1996) designed many classics for the Swedish Johansfors glassworks in the mid-century. One of the most well-known series is Strikt (Strict) from 1952. It consists of clear utility glass like bowls, coasters, decanters, drinking glasses, pitchers, and plates.
The Strikt objects were made of clear glass with modern forms and painted unicolored lines. They came in blue, green, orange, purple, red, yellow, and white color. Which of Bengt’s Strikt pieces is your favorite?
