Anu Penttinen (1974–) has designed many modern design classics for Nordic companies like Orrefors, Marimekko, and Aarikka. One the most well-known series is Cartoon Chicks from 2008. It consists of 12 birds with bottle forms, strong-colored glass, and joyous expression.
Anu got the inspiration for the series from clay animations and the world of the tropics. The birds was crafted by hand at Iittala’s Nuutajärvi glassworks until 2012. On the lower side, they are marked with A Penttinen and Iittala. Which of the Cartoon Chicks is your favorite?
