An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Salix Series

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Salix from 1953. It consists of five earthenware bowls and vases. They have unglazed brown backgrounds and white/yellow dot patterns. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1956. Which of Mari’s Salix objects is your favorite?
