Bibi Breger – Ceramics from Gustavsberg

Bibi Breger (1927–) was one of Sweden’s leading artists in the 20th century. She was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for more beautiful every day goods for everybody. After her art studies at ”Konstfack” in Stockholm, Bibi worked five years for the Gustavsberg factory. She was a prominent decor designer for series like Morning, Prisma, and Strada. An Overview of Bibi Breger’s Cup Decors for Gustavsberg

After studying textile art at Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm, Bibi Breger worked as the decor master at Gustavsberg in 1953–1958. She applied her era-typical patterns to the company’s extensive range of tableware, often on models designed by Stig Lindberg and Wilhelm Kåge. Bibi’s cup decors quickly became a beloved part of Swedish homes.
