An Overview of Lars Bergsten’s Figurines
Lars Bergsten was one Sweden’s distinguished ceramists of the 20th century. In the 1950’s he started his own studio in Eskilstuna in central Sweden. He soon became known for his animal and people figurines with subtly humorous expressions. They are made of reddish earthenware, often with rough-hewn forms and earthy glazes.
