An Overview of Helena Tynell’s Glass from Riihimäen Lasi
Helena Tynell (1918–2016) was educated at the ”Centralskolan för konstflit” in Helsinki in 1938–1943. After a few years designing for the companies Taito (lamps) and Arabia (ceramics), she was hired by Riihimäen Lasi in 1946. Helena would stay 30 years at the glassworks and become known for her rustic, curvy, and colorful design. Below you will find a selection of her vases and decanters that are particularly popular among Finnish glass collectors.
