Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Eritrea from 1960. It consists of four earthenware bowls and vases. They have gently swelling forms, orange glazes, and brown linear decors. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Mari’s Eritrea objects is your favorite?
