Karin Björquist – Ceramics from Gustavsberg

Karin Björquist (1927–2018) was one of Sweden’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. She was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for more beautiful every day goods for everybody. After her art studies at ”Konstfack” in Stockholm, Karin worked for the Gustavsberg factory for more than 40 years. She was a prominent designer of tableware and artwork, like the ”Indigo”, ”Röd kant”, and ”Svart ruter” series. Karin’s artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
