Kaija Aarikka – Wood from Finland

Kaija Aarikka (1929–2014) was one of Finland’s leading artists in the 20th century. She was part of the Nordic tradition aiming for warm-hearted and joyous design. After her art studies at the Institute of Industrial Art in Helsinki, Kaija started the Aarikka company specializing in wooden design with rounded shapes. Her artistry is represented at numerous museums in the Nordic countries.
