An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Carum Serie

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Carum (Caraway) from 1960. It consists of five earthenware bowls, dishes, and vases. They have a sturdy form, blue/brown geometric decor, and rough surface. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Mari’s Carum objects is your favorite?
