An Overview of Marianne Westman’s Piggelin Series
Marianne Westman (1928–2017) designed many classics for the Swedish Rörstrand company in the 1950s to 1970s. One of the most well-known series is Piggelin from 1970. It consists of 17 flintware objects: bowls, dishes, jars, lamp bases, vases, and mirrors. They have geometric forms and hand-painted modern decor in strong colors. The items are stamped on the lower side with Rörstrand, Sweden, MW, Piggelin, and the model number. Which of Marianne’s Piggelin objects is your favorite?
