
In 1965, Aluminia launched the Baca collection. It represented a modern continuation of the company's long tradition of faience art pieces.
Artistic director Nils Thorsson designed most of the models and decors. Other models were created by Beth Breyen, Ellen Malmer, and Grete Helland-Hansen, while Ellen Malmer and Johanne Gerber designed other decorative patterns.
The silk-screen-printed decors often feature stylized plants, animals, and geometric forms in a muted color palette. A special glazing technique created textured details and subtle variations during firing, giving each piece an individual character.
New models and decors were added to the Baca series over the years.In 1969, the Aluminia name was discontinued, and faience production continued under the Royal Copenhagen name until 1996.
