An Overview of Mari Simmulson’s Red Birds

Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company. Some of the most appreciated objects are the birds from 1970. They are made of earthenware with swelling forms, strong red glaze, and modern expressions.  

The figurines are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Mari’s mark (MS or Maris). Which of Mari’s birds is your favorite?
