An Overview of Kati Tuominen-Niittylä’s Storybirds Series
Kati Tuominen-Niittylä designed Storybirds in 1993 for Arabia. The series consists of four porcelain pitchers: Olga, Oliver, Ollie, and Omar. They have organic forms, beak-like spouts, and humorous expressions. The glossy uni-colored glazes are often white or black, but other colors like blue, gray, green, pink, and yellow can be found.
