An Overview of Ingrid Atterberg’s Azur Series
Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1940s to 1960s. One of the most well-known series is Azur from 1960. It consists of six earthenware bowls, dishes, lamp bases, and vases. They have a sturdy form, blue/white color scheme, and rough surface. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, Sweden, Abg, and the model number. The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Ingrid’s Azur objects is your favorite?
