Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is Tulpan (Tulip) from 1959. It consists of seven earthenware bowls, candleholders, and vases. They have a light gray glaze and leaf pattern relief. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was manufactured until 1960. Which of Hjördis’ Tulpan objects is your favorite?
