Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is Palma from 1958. It consists of 13 earthenware bowls, candleholders, dishes, and vases. They have swelling forms, linear relief, and green or yellow glaze. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was manufactured until 1966. Which of Hjördis’ Palma objects is your favorite?
