Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is Kokos (Coconut) from 1954. It consists of 10 earthenware bowls and vases. They have swelling forms, unglazed clay, and yellow linear relief. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was only manufactured in 1954. Which of Hjördis’ Kokos objects is your favorite?
